Terms of service
These terms apply to buildoncampus.com and to registration for Build On Campus events. By using the site or registering for an event, you agree to them. Build On Campus is operated by Adjacent Markets, LLC, doing business as Build On Campus. Questions go to hello@buildoncampus.com.
The site
We keep the information on this site as accurate and current as we can. Event details such as speakers, sessions, rooms and timing can change, and the event page is the source of truth on the day. Nothing on the site is professional, legal or financial advice.
Registration and tickets
- Each registration is for one person. The price, if any, is the one shown on the event page at the time you register.
- Paid tickets are processed by Stripe. Your registration is confirmed when you see the confirmation screen, and for paid tickets when Stripe confirms the payment.
- Registrations are personal. If you cannot attend, email us before the event and we will transfer your spot to someone you name.
- We may limit the number of registrations and close registration when an event is full.
Promo codes
Some events offer free or reduced registration to a specific group, such as students, faculty and staff of the host campus. The eligibility rules are stated on the event page and checked at registration, for example by requiring a campus email address. Codes are for the people they are issued to and may not be resold or shared outside that group. We may cancel a registration that does not meet the stated rules.
Transfers, refunds and changes
- Paid tickets are not refundable. If you cannot attend, email us before the event and we will transfer your spot to someone you name, at no charge.
- If we cancel an event, or move its date so that you can no longer attend, we will refund paid tickets in full to the original payment method.
- Speakers, sessions, rooms and schedule may change. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund.
Conduct
Our events are hands-on, welcoming and respectful. Harassment, discrimination, disruptive behavior and disregard for campus rules are not acceptable. We may ask anyone who behaves this way to leave, without a refund. You are responsible for your own belongings and equipment on the day.
Photography and recording
Events are photographed and recorded. By attending you agree that Build On Campus and the host campus may use photos and video that include you in promotional materials. If you would rather not appear, tell a member of our team on the day. Our privacy policy explains how we handle this.
Your work and the tools you use
What you build at an event is yours. Sessions use tools and services from third parties, each with its own terms and accounts, and you are responsible for your use of them. Sessions are led by independent instructors. The presence of a company at an event, as a presenter or sponsor, is not an endorsement by Build On Campus or the host campus, and nothing at an event is a recommendation to buy a product.
Age
You must be 18 or older to register for and attend our events, and you confirm this when you register.
Liability
You attend at your own risk and agree to follow the host campus's rules and safety instructions. To the extent the law allows, Build On Campus, Adjacent Markets, LLC, the host campus and our partners are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from an event or from use of this site, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. The terms in force when you registered apply to that registration.
